Salary: £33,000 – £37,000 DOE
Full Time – No Sundays or Bank Holidays – 1 Saturday Off Per Month

The Opportunity

A very exciting opportunity has become available for a qualified Dispensing Optician to join a well-established independent practice in the Surrey area.

This is a practice where the emphasis is firmly on quality dispensing and patient care, giving you the opportunity to build genuine relationships with patients rather than working in a high-volume environment.

You’ll be joining an experienced and supportive team and will play an important role throughout the patient journey, from the initial handover through to dispensing, fitting and aftercare.

The Role

As the Dispensing Optician, you’ll be responsible for:

• Delivering a high standard of patient care and professional dispensing
• Helping patients with frame selection and appropriate lens recommendations
• Taking accurate measurements and ensuring an excellent fit
• Managing spectacle orders and liaising with suppliers
• Carrying out quality checks, fittings and minor repairs
• Supporting and guiding Optical Assistants when required
• Providing smooth handovers between the consulting room and dispensing
• Maintaining accurate patient records
• Handling patient queries professionally and confidently
• Helping maintain attractive and well-organised frame displays

What Are They Looking For?

To be considered, you’ll need to be a qualified Dispensing Optician with a Level 6 Diploma in Ophthalmic Dispensing.

We’re looking for somebody who is:

• Confident with all aspects of dispensing
• Passionate about delivering excellent patient care
• Friendly, professional and approachable
• Comfortable recommending frames and lenses based on individual patient needs
• A strong communicator
• Organised with good attention to detail
• Comfortable using IT systems and maintaining patient records
• Happy supporting other members of the team
• Someone who takes genuine pride in doing the job properly
