Chartered Town Planner

Our client is a successful and established planning practice who believes in building high trust relationships and providing exemplary service. Due to a sustained period of growth and a strong pipeline of work, the firm is looking to strengthen their team with the addition of a RTPI Planner. As the firm’s Planner you will prepare, review, and draft an array of planning documentation. Responsibilities of the role will include the analysis of planning issues, development of appropriate strategies and the preparation of applications to secure permissions for rural businesses, agriculture, and residential clients. Typical schemes include new farm buildings, house extensions, replacement dwellings, housing developments (2 – 15 units), change of use for rural businesses, agricultural workers dwellings, conversion of rural buildings and affordable housing. Therefore, a practical understanding of the countryside would be highly beneficial in this role. This family focused company operates a flat structure where everyone in the company contributes to making changes, influencing decisions, and supporting taking the business forward. The successful Planner should be a true team player who has a passion for the countryside and a desire for working on projects they truly believe in. Along with careful attention to detail and tenacious problem-solving skills. A number of complex instructions require determination and thorough research of a variety of resources to justify the proposed solutions. You will be a Chartered member of RTPI or RICS and ideally have both Local authority and Consultancy experience, with a good understanding of both sides of the planning application process. Salary and package is negotiable doe.
