About the role
We are currently recruiting for a Process Operative for a metal trading business and distribution centre in Tankersley.
You would be responsible for processing, sorting and out-turning of all incoming materials.
Hours:
- Monday to Friday
- Day shifts
Pay Rate:
- £14.86 – £17.00 per hour
- Depending on experience

Duties Include:
- Sorting and grading metals
- Using shears, guillotines, bandsaws, shotblasters to break down metals
- The candidate will be responsible for the processing, sorting/grading & out-turning of all the incoming materials.
- Operating Wash Plant, cleaning turnings / testing for carbons, compressing pucks, packing / quality checking, turning on heaters, operating lab equipment, clean filters, emptying tanks, jet washing
- Running of a wash plant machine including cleaning down after shift
- Use of lab equipment, chemicals and various other products
- Emptying and refilling tanks of chemicals
- Cleaning and replacing of filters
- Regular checks of detergents and keeping these to required level
- Quality checking metal products and ensuring highest of standard
- Testing turnings for carbons
Skills Required:
- Knowledge of working with chemicals or in a labratory would be beneficial
- Must have strong IT and organisational skills
- Must have own transport due to location
- Previous machine operating experience would be a benefit but not essential
- Must have a keen eye for detail
