About the role
We're looking for a proactive and people-focused People Advisor to join a busy and supportive People Services team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with HR advisory experience who enjoys employee relations, coaching managers, and helping create a positive workplace culture.
In this varied role, you'll be the first point of contact for managers on a range of people matters, providing clear, pragmatic and legally compliant advice while helping to resolve issues early and effectively.
As People Advisor, you'll be involved in a broad mix of people-related activities, including:
- Advising managers and employees on HR policies, procedures and best practice
- Managing a range of employee relations cases, including probation reviews, absence management, flexible working requests, performance concerns and low-level disciplinary matters
- Supporting investigations, hearings and formal meetings, including note-taking where required
- Coaching managers on people management approaches and helping them navigate employee challenges with confidence
- Supporting wellbeing initiatives and attendance management processes
- Contributing to recruitment, onboarding and employee lifecycle activities
- Maintaining accurate case records and identifying trends or emerging risks
- Assisting with HR projects, continuous improvement initiatives and the development of manager guidance materials
- Building strong relationships with stakeholders across the organisation and promoting a positive employee relations culture
We're keen to hear from HR professionals who can combine strong technical knowledge with a practical and approachable style.
- Experience working in an HR generalist role
- Previous experience providing advice on HR policies and employee relations matters
- Confidence managing lower-level ER cases independently
- Knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- A CIPD Level 3 or Level 5 qualification (or equivalent)
