Job Overview

• Role: Senior Security Architect – Platforms (Work Level 5)

• Location: Manchester City Centre (Hybrid working: split time between home and the office as required for workshops, team meetings, and events)

• Salary: £70,000 - £76,000 per year plus excellent benefits

• Contract Type: Permanent, 37.5 hours per week

What You’ll Do

You will join the Security Architecture team to help build secure technology solutions that protect colleagues, members, customers, and the business. Responsibilities include:

• Design & Assurance: Review technology solutions, architectures, and designs from the earliest stages to identify security risks and recommend controls.

• Collaboration: Partner with architects, engineers, product teams, and business stakeholders to embed security-by-design principles into decision-making.

• Standards & Best Practices: Develop and promote security standards, patterns, and best practices across the organisation.

• Risk & Resilience: Assess emerging technologies and security risks to ensure solutions remain secure, resilient, and fit for purpose.

• Governance & Advisory: Support architecture governance processes, providing expert input on security considerations, risk mitigation, and trusted third-party supplier relationships.

What You’ll Bring

• Significant experience in cyber security, security architecture, security engineering, or a related technical discipline.

• Strong knowledge across areas such as cloud, networks, infrastructure, and secure solution design.

• Experience reviewing technical designs and providing security assurance, recommendations, and risk-based guidance.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and complex technical challenge resolution skills.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence and challenge constructively at all levels.
