About the role
Marketing Insights Manager
6 month FTC
Edinburgh (hybrid)
£37,000–£47,000 plus benefits
Iconic Resourcing are delighted to be partnering with a leading international organisation as they look to strengthen their market research and insights capability, supporting strategic growth and future development. We're looking for a Marketing Insights Manager to join the team on a 6 month Fixed Term Contract, helping to identify market opportunities, understand demand and turn research into meaningful insights that inform strategic decision-making.
This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in market research, consumer insights or strategic research who enjoys investigating markets, analysing information from different sources and presenting findings in a way that helps organisations make informed decisions. You'll be naturally curious, comfortable asking questions and confident taking ownership of projects from initial research through to recommendations.
You'll play an important role in exploring opportunities for new programmes and services, understanding market trends and assessing demand across different markets. Working closely with marketing, recruitment and other stakeholders, you'll bring together research and evidence to identify opportunities, support portfolio development and help shape future activity. This is a varied, project led role with plenty of autonomy, rather than a position focused solely on producing surveys or technical data reporting.
What you'll be doing
-
Leading market research and insight projects to identify growth opportunities and assess market demand
-
Conducting secondary research into market trends, competitor activity and emerging opportunities across different markets
-
Bringing together evidence from multiple sources, analysing findings and developing clear, actionable recommendations
-
Supporting the development of new programmes and services through market research and demand analysis
-
Contributing to portfolio reviews, identifying opportunities for development and informing strategic decisions
-
Designing and delivering qualitative and quantitative research where appropriate, including surveys, focus groups and stakeholder engagement
-
Producing clear reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders
-
Working closely with marketing, recruitment and other teams to understand their research needs and inform future activity
-
Managing multiple projects independently, adapting to changing priorities and ensuring work is delivered accurately and effectively
What experience you'll bring
-
Experience in market research, market intelligence, consumer insights or a related research and analysis role
-
Experience managing research or insight projects from initial brief through to analysis and presentation of findings
-
Strong secondary research skills, with the ability to gather, interpret and synthesise information from multiple sources
-
An analytical approach, with the ability to identify trends, assess opportunities and turn findings into practical recommendations
-
Familiarity with qualitative research methods, with experience of quantitative research also beneficial
-
Strong report-writing and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly to different audiences
-
Confidence engaging with stakeholders, asking questions and understanding their research needs
-
The ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities and adapt to changing requirements
Experience within higher education would be advantageous, but is not essential. We're also keen to hear from candidates with relevant experience gained in other sectors, including agency-side or in-house research and insights roles.
