Do you want to join an innovative and enthusiastic mental health team?

Do you want to join a team that is committed to providing high quality services to predominantly older people experiencing mental health challenges and their carers?

Do you want to work in a team that practices a person centred and strengths-based approach?

If the answer is yes, opportunities have arisen for social workers to join a well established, passionate, community mental health team.

The opportunity

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced registered Social Worker to join the Bath and North East Somerset Older Adult Community Mental Health Team (BANES OACMHT).

BaNES OACMHT provides a specialist Mental Health Pathway for Older Adults experiencing mental ill health, and those experiencing complex neurodegenerative disorders, where the impact upon the well-being and ability to live safely independently is significant.

The B&NES Older Adult Community Mental Health Team is a dynamic, integrated, multi-disciplinary team, comprising colleagues from both the local authority and AWP Mental Health Partnership. The post holder will be co-located and working collaboratively with nursing colleagues, allied health professionals, clinical psychologists, medics and support workers, and as a result will have the opportunity to develop specialist skills, and will be encouraged to pursue interests in different treatment pathways.

We are proud to be fostering a diverse workforce that reflects our communities. A key commitment to this is improving staff representation from Black, Asian and minority ethnic communities, those from LGBTQ+ communities and people living with disabilities.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced social worker to join the team, which works across the more rural area of North East Somerset, and the City of Bath. Flexibility to work across both bases, and across the whole of BaNES and beyond is however essential and required from all colleagues. The successful individual will have a passion for working with older adult, and will have the experience to work as a senior social worker within the team, providing leadership, expertise and supporting more junior colleagues.

If you are interested in this post and require more details or just to chat through the role and what is involved, please contact Kimberley Bennett, Team Manager, [email removed] or Lois Ferdinando, BANES Senior Practitioner, [email removed] on [phone removed].
