Judged "Outstanding" overall by Ofsted 2023

Leaders and staff at all levels have extremely high expectations of all pupils.

A highly effective curriculum and well-thought-out support enable them to achieve remarkably well across the whole curriculum. This is especially true for pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).

Non-teaching SENDCo and Assistant Headteacher

Required for: April 2027

Salary range: L6 - 9 (£60,619 - £65,278)

The Valley Community Primary School is seeking to appoint an inspirational and outstanding non-teaching SENDCo to join our Senior Leadership Team to ensure the continued success and further development of our SEND provision throughout the school.

This post has arisen as a result of our highly skilled and experienced SENDCo’s retirement in April 2027.

Why Choose The Valley?

We believe The Valley is a unique school where all children thrive. Our talented staff are highly motivated, passionate, and work collaboratively to bring learning to life.

As our new SENDCo, you will benefit from:

• Zero teaching commitment, allowing you to fully focus on strategic leadership, staff mentoring, and compliance.

• A dedicated seat on the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), ensuring SEND remains at the absolute heart of our school policy, practice and ethos.

• A supportive, collaborative culture where ‘SEND is everyone's responsibility’.

We are looking for an experienced and ambitious SENDCo who will:

• Provide innovative, strategic leadership for SEND, ensuring our curriculum remains deeply inclusive and accessible for every child.

• Act as an expert coach and mentor, regularly dropping into classrooms and learning areas to support teachers and TAs with adaptive teaching strategies.

• Be an empathetic, highly effective communicator who builds deep trust with children, staff, parents & carers and external agencies.

• Ensure airtight management of statutory compliance, EHCP processes, and funding requests.

• Demonstrate a fierce commitment to safeguarding and the effective deployment of SEND resources.
