Overview

A welcoming family in Wimbledon is looking for an experienced, capable and enthusiastic Housekeeper Nanny to join their household on a full-time, long-term basis.

The family lives in a substantial six-bedroom home arranged over four floors and is looking for someone who genuinely enjoys combining high-standard housekeeping, family cooking and caring for two school-aged children.

The position is approximately 60% housekeeping and 40% childcare during term time, with the balance shifting to approximately 30% housekeeping and 70% childcare during school holidays.

During term time, the core childcare hours are approximately 7.00am to 8.30am and 3.00pm to 7.00pm. The remaining time is dedicated to housekeeping, cooking and household management.

The successful candidate will be proactive, organised and confident managing their own workload, taking responsibility for the day-to-day running of the home while working comfortably both independently and alongside the parents, whose working schedules vary.

Above all, the family hopes to find someone warm, reliable and enthusiastic who will enjoy becoming part of their household and remain with them for many years.

Key Responsibilities

  • General cleaning, including vacuuming, dusting and maintaining bathrooms, kitchens, bedrooms and living areas.
  • Family laundry, ironing, changing bed linen and towels.
  • Keeping wardrobes, cupboards, children's bedrooms and play areas tidy and organised.
  • Proactively decluttering and organising household spaces, including sorting outgrown children's clothing and toys for donation.
  • Managing household shopping, groceries and supplies.
  • Running errands, including dry cleaning, parcel returns and other household tasks.
  • Assisting with the organisation of children's schedules, school activities and day-to-day family arrangements.

Family Cooking

  • Planning and preparing healthy, nutritious meals for the whole family, including regular evening meals for the parents.
  • Following the parents' preferred recipes, meal plans and dietary requirements, ensuring meals are prepared according to their instructions and schedules.
  • Preparing children's breakfasts, meals and snacks as required.
  • Managing grocery shopping, meal preparation and keeping the kitchen clean and organised.

Childcare and Family Support

  • Helping with the children's morning routines, breakfast and preparation for school.
  • School drop-offs and collections, including collecting the younger child from school and meeting the older child from the school bus.
  • Taking the children to after-school clubs, activities and playdates.
  • Providing warm, attentive and engaging after-school care.
  • Supporting reading, homework and age-appropriate activities as needed.
  • Preparing children's meals and supervising teatime.

  • Planning creative activities, outings and days out during school holidays, alongside any holiday club arrangements.
  • Working comfortably alongside the parents when they are at home, adapting to the family's changing routines.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a combined Housekeeper Nanny or similar private household role.
  • Excellent housekeeping and organisational skills, with a genuine pride in maintaining a home to a high standard.
  • Confident preparing healthy, nutritious family meals and following recipes and dietary preferences.
  • Warm, kind, patient and emotionally intuitive with children.
  • Able to establish clear boundaries and maintain consistent routines.
  • Proactive, organised and able to anticipate the family's needs without constant direction.
  • Reliable, diligent and comfortable taking responsibility for the household.
  • Flexible and confident working both independently and alongside parents.
  • Positive, good-humoured and happy to engage with the children.
  • Seeking a stable, long-term position and keen to build a lasting relationship with the family.
  • Confident driver with a clean driving licence.
