Recruitment Consultant – Engineering, Housing & Construction

An established specialist recruitment consultancy is seeking an experienced  Recruitment Consultant to join its growing team in Bromley.

The company supplies skilled engineers, tradespeople and technical professionals to employers throughout the UK, recruiting across engineering, housing, maintenance, construction and renewable technologies.

This is not a cold-start desk. You will have access to established client accounts, live vacancies and an extensive candidate database from the outset.

The business is also open to experienced recruiters looking to move away from a flat market and into buoyant, skills-short technical sectors offering consistent demand and strong earning potential.

The Opportunity

You will manage and develop a specialist 360 recruitment desk, combining client development, account management and candidate delivery.

The position offers the autonomy to grow existing accounts, develop new client relationships and build a specialist market aligned with your experience.

You will be supported by an established back-office team covering operations, compliance and payroll, allowing you to focus on relationships, placements and revenue generation.

Experienced recruiters with a network in a complementary market will also be considered for the opportunity to develop a new specialist desk.

Established Markets

The business recruits across:

• Gas and heating
• Electrical
• Plumbing and mechanical
• Renewable energy and retrofit
• Social housing and maintenance
• Construction
• Engineering and technical services

Previous experience within these sectors would be beneficial but is not essential. Applications are welcomed from successful recruiters operating within other technical, engineering, construction or high-volume staffing markets.

Commission and Rewards

The company operates a progressive commission structure based on monthly billings:

• 10% on billings from £0 to £10,000
• 20% on billings from £10,000 to £20,000
• 30% on billings from £20,000 to £30,000
• 35% on billings above £30,000

Commission is calculated progressively across each billing band, with no ceiling on earning potential.

About You

You will have previous agency recruitment experience and a proven ability to manage a successful desk.

You should be:

• Confident developing new and existing client relationships
• Comfortable managing a complete 360 recruitment process
• Commercially aware and motivated by results
• Credible when advising clients and candidates
• Capable of managing live vacancies and multiple recruitment campaigns
• Interested in developing within a growing specialist business

Salary and Benefits

• £30,000–£45,000 basic salary, depending on experience

The company is also recruiting a Delivery Consultant, with an indicative basic salary of £25,000–£30,000, for someone who prefers to focus on sourcing, screening and placing candidates across live accounts.
