Financial Accountant – SJS/12828

This large manufacturing business supplies market leading products to retail and wholesale customers throughout the UK and worldwide. Operating as a subsidiary of an acquisitive PLC, they have deep financial resources and are now part of a portfolio of well-respected brands within their sector.

As part of their ongoing growth and development they are now looking to strengthen the finance department by recruiting a Financial Accountant to join a busy accounts team and build close working relationships with key stakeholders across the business. Reporting into the Finance Director the successful candidate must have a keen eye for detail, the curiosity to question current processes and a desire to seek continuous improvement. The role would be ideally suited to a newly or nearly qualified accountant, ACCA or ACA with an audit / accountancy practice background preferred but not essential. On offer is the chance to join a well-respected company in a role that could develop into a Financial Controller / Head of Finance position in the future.

Key responsibilities:

• Improving financial reporting through clear understanding of business processes and controls
• Delivering month end board and management reporting packs, at site and group finance level
• Completing balance sheet and P&L reconciliations, resolving any key issues
• Managing the cash flow forecasting process and liaising with group treasury
• Improving processes and controls, delivering required change across the business
• Reporting financial performance of operational cost centres
• Recording and controlling fixed assets and authorising expenditure
• Preparation of annual budgets and information for the group finance team
• Driving improvements to the ERP system along with other ad hoc projects when required.
