Teaching Assistant - SEN

Our partner school in Hemel Hempstead is seeking 3 dedicated Teaching Assistants to join their multidisciplinary team. Supporting students aged 6 and above with complex and severe special educational needs, including SEMH, SLD, Autism, and ADHD-this role offers you the chance to deliver genuinely life-changing support in a highly compassionate environment.

This is a Temp-to-Perm opportunity with an immediate start.

• Direct Support: Work 1:1 or with small groups of students with SEMH, Autism, SLD, and ADHD.
• Learning Facilitation: Help plan and adapt lessons, using specialised learning schemes to drive individual progress.
• Progress Tracking: Complete daily pupil logs and communicate updates effectively to teachers and parents.
• Well-being Focus: Actively support physical, social, and emotional development while fostering a positive environment.
• Classroom Preparation: Collaborate with teachers to prepare learning materials and activities for the next day.

To clear compliance for this role, you must have:

• Proven experience working with children or young people with SEN
• Demonstrated confidence in managing challenging behaviour and promoting positive social/emotional well-being
• A strong understanding of Autism, SEMH, and related learning needs
• An Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or a willingness to complete one)
• Two professional references covering recent experience with SEN pupils
• Right to Work in the UK (Please note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position)
