The Role

As a Warehouse Operative (Goods Issue - Operational Picking) for the upcoming state-of-the-art Leeds RDC opening in April 2027, you’ll play a vital role in keeping warehouse operations running smoothly. From picking products via headset instructions to moving stock to outbound lanes, you’ll ensure orders are processed correctly and get our products into our customers' hands.

To ensure you are fully prepared and empowered for launch day, your journey will include comprehensive, paid hands-on training prior to the site opening:

• Neighbouring Regional Training: Gain initial experience across neighbouring sites (Doncaster, Runcorn, Newton Aycliffe). A dedicated daily coach service will be provided by Lidl (travel time included in working hours).

• Luton RDC Training: Spend time mastering our newest, cutting-edge Warehouse Management System (EWM) at Luton—Lidl's largest RDC.

Key Responsibilities:

• Order Picking: Multitask and carefully listen to picking instructions through your headset to carry out tasks swiftly.

• Product Packing: Pack a variety of ambient products (with flexibility to support chiller, fresh fruit & veg, and freezer environments, featuring premium payments of £1.50/hour for freezer work as low as -18°C).

• Delivery Security: Make sure your deliveries are perfectly stacked, secure, and ready for dispatch.

• Quality Control: Spot and proactively report any damaged items to your manager.

• Independent Execution: Responsibly and independently work through your picking orders.

• Safety Focus: A strong commitment to health and safety standards to ensure products reach stores safely.

• Flexibility: The willingness to pick in other areas (chilled, fresh fruit & veg, freezer) as requested by your manager.

• Team & Individual Balance: The desire to work independently while acting as part of a wider collective to achieve common goals.

• Attention to Detail: Excellent listening skills for headset instructions and an eye for spotting damaged items.

• Competitive Pay: £13.80 - £14.45 per hour, with additional shift premiums (£2.00 per hour for bank holidays and £3.50 per hour for nights).
