About the role
Fundraising Assistant
Every gift to Bliss — from a £20 donation made through our website to a grant from a family trust or a six-figure corporate partnership — needs to be recorded accurately, thanked properly and stewarded well. This role makes that happen.
Every day, babies are born premature or sick and families face one of the most frightening and uncertain times of their lives. At Bliss, we support those families, champion better neonatal care and drive change across the UK.
We are looking for an organised, curious and detail-driven Fundraising Assistant to play a vital support role across three areas of our Fundraising department: Fundraising Operations and Data, Trusts and Foundations, and Partnerships and Philanthropy. This is a varied, hands-on role and a strong entry point into the world of fundraising
Terms
- Location: Hybrid (a minimum of three of your days over two weeks will be worked in the office Bliss Head Office, London SE1)
- Salary: £27,500 per year
- Terms: Full-time (35 hours per week). Permanent
Role Details
The Fundraising Assistant keeps the engine of our fundraising running. You will process and clean our supporter data, help build and maintain our pipeline of trusts and corporate prospects, and make sure that every donor and partner hears from us promptly and personally.
Day-to-day, you will work across multiple teams, picking up tasks that range from data processing and prospect research to drafting thank you letters and coordinating stewardship activity. It is a broad and varied role, with real scope to develop specialist skills in whichever area interests you most.
In this role, you will:
● Process website donation imports and complete regular data tasks using Raiser’s Edge and Importacular
● Monitor the fundraising inbox and respond to supporter queries, including gift processing and regular giving amendments
● Carry out routine data cleansing to keep supporter records accurate and up to date
● Research the small trusts pipeline, identifying deadlines and funding priorities to keep our pipeline current
● Support the preparation of trust applications, grant acknowledgements and stewardship updates
● Help deliver the Big Give Christmas Challenge campaign, including planning coordination, case study sourcing and marketing scheduling
● Act as a first point of contact for incoming corporate and donor enquiries, routing them to the right colleague
● Ensure all partnership and major gift income is thanked accurately and within agreed timescales
● Support prospect research across the corporate and major donor pipelines
● Maintain accurate records on Raiser’s Edge, including income tracking, contact reports and pipeline updates
● Support the preparation of proposals, pitch materials and partner reports by gathering content from across the organisation
● Provide logistical support for partner and donor events, including invitations, tracking and follow-up
● Support community and events activity, including moderating Facebook groups, sending out fundraising materials, and attending events such as the London Marathon
