The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Consultant Dermatologist to support services in Wales.

This is an excellent long-term locum opportunity offering a structured 10-session-per-week job plan within a busy and well-established Dermatology department. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality dermatology services, supporting outpatient pathways and procedural activity while working alongside a multidisciplinary team committed to excellent patient care.

Proposed Job Plan

• 4 RTT/USC outpatient clinics per week
• 2 procedural/theatre sessions per week
• 2 administration sessions
• 1 Educational Development and Training (EDT) session
• 1 MDT/Departmental Meetings session

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert assessment, diagnosis, and management of a broad range of dermatological conditions.
• Deliver high-quality outpatient dermatology services within RTT and urgent suspected cancer pathways.
• Undertake dermatological procedures and minor operative work as required.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to collaborative patient management.
• Support service development, clinical governance, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Provide clinical leadership and support to junior medical staff where appropriate.

Requirements

• Full GMC registration with a licence to practise.
• Entry on the GMC Specialist Register for Dermatology, or equivalent experience suitable for consultant-level practice.
• Previous NHS experience in Dermatology.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Right to Work in the UK (please note visa sponsorship is not available).
