About the role

By joining the University of Lancashire, you’ll become part of a thriving community of talent that’s united by a shared vision – to transform the lives of our students and create prosperity and opportunity in the communities we serve. Every colleague has a vital role to play in helping us achieve this vision.

About the role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Medical Sciences and wider Biosciences team on a two-year fixed-term basis. You will contribute to teaching, assessment, academic support, module leadership, curriculum development, research and scholarship across Foundation Year and undergraduate provision from Level 3 to Level 6.

The role requires broad bioscience expertise and the confidence to teach across a range of areas, including pharmacology, microbiology, molecular biology and cell biology. You will contribute to the BSc (Hons) Medical Sciences and its associated Foundation Year at Burnley, as well as Biomedical Science, Pharmacology, Biology and related bioscience courses at Preston. This breadth of contribution will help support curriculum coherence, student progression and resilient delivery across the School’s bioscience portfolio.

You will work across both the Burnley and Preston campuses and collaborate with course and subject teams to provide engaging, inclusive and research-informed teaching. You will also support students’ academic development, contribute to the enhancement of the student experience and participate in the wider academic life of the School.

About you:

We welcome applications from Bioscientists with the subject breadth, teaching capability and collaborative approach needed to contribute across Medical Sciences and the wider bioscience portfolio. You will be committed to delivering high-quality education and supporting students from Foundation Year to Level 6 and must possess an undergraduate degree (or equivalent) and a PhD in a bioscience discipline, for example biological sciences, phramacology, microbiology, molecular biology, cell biology or medical sciences. You will have experience of teaching bioscience subjects in higher education, with the ability to teach, assess and support students across Levels 3 to 6, including Foundation Year provision
