Financial Controller

Business Overview

Our client is a highly successful global organisation with operations spanning multiple international markets. They are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Financial Controller to lead the finance function for their UK entities.

This is a key leadership position, offering significant exposure to both UK and international stakeholders. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring robust financial control, statutory compliance, and accurate reporting, while partnering with operational leaders to support business performance and growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all financial accounting, reporting and control activities for the UK entity.
• Manage the month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes.
• Ensure compliance with UK GAAP, IFRS and all statutory reporting requirements.
• Oversee preparation of annual financial statements and manage the external audit process.
• Maintain a strong internal control environment and drive continuous process improvements.
• Manage cash flow forecasting and working capital performance.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities.
• Partner with operational and commercial stakeholders to provide financial insight and analysis.
• Support group reporting requirements and liaise with international finance teams.
• Lead, develop and mentor members of the UK finance team.
• Drive finance transformation and systems improvement initiatives where appropriate.
• Support strategic projects including acquisitions, integrations and business expansion initiatives.

The Candidate

We are seeking an ambitious finance professional who combines strong technical accounting expertise with commercial awareness and leadership capability.

Essential Requirements

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or Senior Financial Reporting Manager.
• Strong knowledge of UK statutory reporting and audit requirements.
• Experience working within a multinational or global business environment is advantageous
• Advanced financial reporting and control experience.
• Excellent stakeholder management and business partnering skills.
• Strong systems skills, including ERP environments and advanced Excel.
