Key Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted finance partner to operational and commercial teams, providing insight, guidance and constructive challenge.
- Deliver meaningful financial analysis and performance reporting, helping stakeholders understand the key drivers behind revenue, costs and profitability.
- Take an active role in budgeting, forecasting and longer-term financial planning, supporting business objectives and future growth.
- Review the financial performance of projects and contracts, identifying trends, potential risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Produce regular management information and KPI reporting, including sales, margins, expenditure and overall financial performance.
- Support the month-end reporting process, ensuring accurate financial results and timely delivery of management information.
- Take ownership of key balance sheet areas, including inventory and debtors, maintaining strong financial controls.
- Work collaboratively across finance and operational teams to improve reporting, strengthen processes and support commercial decision-making.
- Provide ad hoc financial analysis to support business initiatives and strategic projects.
About You
We're looking for a proactive and commercially astute finance professional who can combine strong analytical skills with the ability to build effective relationships across the business.
Ideally, you'll have:
- Previous experience in a Finance Business Partner, Management Accountant, Commercial Accountant or similar commercially focused finance role.
- Strong management accounting experience, including month-end reporting, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
- The ability to interpret complex financial information and communicate it clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
- Experience analysing revenue, margins, costs and business performance.
- Confidence working with operational managers, providing financial guidance and constructively challenging decisions.
- Excellent Excel skills, strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Experience within a manufacturing, engineering, aerospace, defence or project-based environment would be advantageous.
- A recognised accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA or ACA), or be working towards one.
