About the role

Bench Joiner

Are you a skilled Bench Joiner with a passion for precision craftsmanship and quality woodworking? We are looking for a motivated, hands-on individual to join our clients workshop team and help produce high-quality joinery to exacting standards.

Whether you are an experienced, time-served joiner or someone with solid workshop experience looking to develop your skills, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

The Role

Working within a busy, factory-based workshop, you will carry out a variety of bench joinery tasks, working with different timber materials and using a range of woodworking machinery and tools to produce quality components and finished products.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out general bench joinery and woodworking tasks.

  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.

  • Accurately measuring, marking out and calculating dimensions.

  • Working with hardwoods, softwoods and plywood.

  • Operating portable and fixed woodworking machinery safely and efficiently.

  • Using routers, trimmers, biscuit joiners, chop saws, rack saws, band saws and various milling machines.

  • Maintaining high standards of workmanship, accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Working independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

What We are Looking For

We are keen to hear from candidates who have:

  • An NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent qualification in Joinery or Carpentry.

  • Previous experience in a joinery workshop or similar factory-based environment.

  • The ability to read and understand engineering drawings.

  • Good measuring, marking-out and calculation skills.

  • Experience working with a variety of timber and sheet materials.

  • A practical, proactive approach and a commitment to producing quality work.

  • The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team.

Milling experience and time-served joinery experience would be an advantage, but are not essential. Experience with the machinery listed above is desirable, and training can be provided where needed.
