About the role

Join us as an Executive Support Officer at Thirteen Group!

Role Overview:

Thirteen is looking for an Executive Support Officer to provide proactive, high-quality support to our four Chief Officers.

Working at the centre of decision-making, you’ll help our senior leaders stay focused on what matters most. You'll play a key role in keeping priorities on track, co-ordinating busy schedules, managing information flow, and ensuring our Executives are well prepared to lead Thirteen effectively.

It would be great if you have a governance background; but in particular we’re looking for someone with experience in an Executive Assistant or similar senior support position in a complex and regulated organisation, alongside your ability to anticipate needs, build strong relationships, and confidently manage competing priorities.

This is a full-time, hub-based role at our Hudson Quay office in Middlesbrough, working 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, five days a week. Some flexibility may be available in line with the needs and expectations of the Executive and Governance teams.

Thirteen Benefits:

  • Salary – £34,340 per annum
  • Annual leave – starting at 28 days and rising to 31 days after three years, a day off for your birthday, plus bank holidays.
  • Pension – up to 17% contributions (flexible contribution rates of up to 7% colleague and up to 10% employer).
  • Simply Health – save money on common health expenses and get access to health and wellbeing support services.
  • T’dar – our Discount and Reward platform giving you huge savings on everyday brands.
  • Opportunities to buy and sell annual leave

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be the trusted, proactive support to our four Chief Officers. You’ll manage inboxes and diaries, arrange meetings and travel, and respond to changing demands with professionalism.
  • Keep Executive Team and governance activity running smoothly by co-ordinating meetings, forward plans and decision-making processes.
  • Prepare high quality briefings, reports and information requests, ensuring leaders have the right information to make informed decisions.
  • Capture key decisions and actions through clear minutes and records, helping to keep activity on track and moving forward.
  • Work closely with the Governance team to anticipate Board and committee cycles and deadlines, helping leaders manage priorities, risks, opportunities and dependencies.
  • Build positive relationships with leaders, Board members, key partners and external stakeholders, acting as a trusted and approachable point of contact.

About You:

  • You’ll have experience as an Executive Assistant or a similar senior-level support role. It would be great if you also have governance experience.
  • A proven ability to support senior leaders, manage competing priorities, and keep complex activity organised and moving forward.
  • You’re highly organised, with the ability to think ahead, handle sensitive information with discretion, and you’ll enjoy finding practical solutions to challenges.
  • A confident, personable communicator who can build great relationships and communicate clearly with a range of people.
  • No two days are quite the same, so you’ll be adaptable, resilient and can understand the wider organisational impact of decisions.
  • With strong emotional intelligence and professionalism, you’ll work effectively with senior leaders, Board members and external stakeholders.
