About the role

Procurement Officer

Location: London

Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract (6 months)

Working Pattern: Full Time, 3 days onsite per week

Salary: circa £45,000 per annum pro rata

Are you an experienced procurement professional who thrives in a fast-paced, international environment? Do you have a talent for building strong supplier relationships, securing commercial value, and delivering procurement solutions that support organisational success?

We are seeking a proactive and commercially minded Procurement officer to join a respected international organisation on a six-month fixed-term contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in supporting the procurement activities associated with the organisation's new office in Switzerland.

Working closely with colleagues across multiple functions and locations, you'll manage the full procurement lifecycle, from sourcing and supplier selection through to contract negotiation, supplier performance management and spend analysis. You'll be instrumental in ensuring goods and services are procured efficiently, cost-effectively and in line with governance requirements, while helping to deliver meaningful business outcomes in an international setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with stakeholders to align procurement activities with business needs.

  • Manage the entire procurement lifecycle, from sourcing and negotiation to purchasing and supplier relationship management.

  • Maintain cost-effectiveness and adhere to the Foundation's budget and quality standards.

  • Identify and evaluate suppliers that meet the Foundation's quality, cost, and delivery requirements.

  • Lead contract negotiations in collaboration with the Legal department to secure favourable terms.

  • Maintain a reliable supplier database and monitor supplier performance against contract terms.

  • Efficiently manage supplier disputes and ensure timely resolutions.

  • Prepare and present comprehensive procurement reports, including spend analysis and procurement metrics, to senior management.

What we're looking for:

  • Demonstrable experience in procurement within a dynamic environment, focused on cost-effectiveness and operational efficiencies.

  • Proven ability to manage the end-to-end procurement process.

  • Strong background in negotiating and managing supplier relationships.

  • Ability to relate to the needs and operating environment of an international not-for-profit body funded by a variety of donors requiring stringent procurement policies.

  • Results-driven mindset with a focus on delivering value to the business.

  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with strong stakeholder management experience.

  • Proactive problem-solver, capable of working autonomously and collaboratively.

  • Strong analytical mindset for optimising procurement strategies in complex environments.

  • Working knowledge of legal regulations related to public procurement.

  • Experience in sustainable procurement practises and cost management.

  • Business fluent in English and French would be desirable.

  • MCIPS equivalent qualification or equivalent experience.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a passionate team within a reputable organisation that values innovation and integrity. If you possess the required skills and experience and are excited about making a significant impact, we'd love to hear from you.
