HGV Class 1 Driver – Stafford, Staffordshire

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Stafford, Staffordshire.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering great rates of pay and room to grow and progress.

This would suit applicants who have worked as an LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver or Articulated Lorry Driver.

Rates of Pay:

• £18.00 per hour

Shift Pattern:

• Working 5 nights between Monday and Sunday
• Start times between 01:00 and 06:00

Day-to-Day Duties:

Your duties as an HGV Class 1 Driver are:

• Completing between 1 and 3 deliveries per shift using pump trucks
• Operating and driving Class 1 vehicles safely and efficiently to and from delivery locations
• Carrying out pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Ensuring all cargo is loaded and secured correctly
• Adhering to all traffic laws and regulations
• Communicating effectively with dispatch teams and customers
• Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance requirements
• Assisting with the loading and unloading of goods where required
• Maintaining high standards of customer service

Essential Skills:

To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need:

• Valid UK Category CE Driving Licence
• Minimum of 12 months’ experience driving Category CE vehicles
• No more than six penalty points for minor infringements and no major endorsement codes
• Valid UK CPC Card
• Valid UK Digital Tachograph Card
• Good spoken and written English
• Excellent punctuality and timekeeping skills
• Good understanding of traffic laws and regulations
• Effective communication skills

Training:

• Industry-related training provided
• Ongoing support throughout your assignment
