This is an excellent opportunity to join an innovative manufacturing business operating from a state-of-the-art facility in North Yorkshire, delivering complex, high-performance composite components and assemblies for some of the world's leading organisations.
Working within a precision-driven manufacturing environment, you will play a key role in ensuring that products meet the highest standards of quality, safety and customer specifications throughout the manufacturing process.
We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates with experience in quality inspection, dimensional measurement and manufacturing, ideally within composites, aerospace, defence or other precision engineering environments.
The Role
As Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for carrying out inspection, measurement and testing activities throughout the manufacturing process, from incoming goods through to final inspection and dispatch.
Working closely with Production, Engineering and Quality teams, you will ensure that all products meet the required technical specifications, quality standards and customer expectations.
You will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, support quality documentation and assist in maintaining the organisation's high standards of manufacturing excellence.
Key Responsibilities

- Perform technical measurement activities using inspection equipment, including Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and Faro Arms.
- Undertake product testing activities to verify compliance with technical specifications and quality requirements.
- Accurately complete inspection reports, job cards and associated quality documentation.
- Ensure products meet customer requirements, manufacturing specifications and relevant quality standards.
- Identify, report and support the resolution of quality issues and non-conformances.
- Work closely with Production, Engineering and other departments to investigate and resolve quality concerns.
- Support the introduction of new inspection techniques, measurement methods and quality processes.
- Assist with quality audits, accreditation requirements and ongoing regulatory compliance.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving product quality, manufacturing efficiency and operational performance.
- Provide technical guidance and support to colleagues, including assisting with training and skills development.
- Ensure all inspection and testing activities are completed safely and in accordance with company procedures.
We are keen to hear from candidates who can demonstrate:
- Previous experience in a Quality Inspector or Quality Control position within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience carrying out visual and dimensional inspections of manufactured components.
- Knowledge of quality control processes, inspection techniques and testing procedures.
- Experience working within a structured, process-driven production environment.
- Ability to use measuring equipment and inspection tools accurately.
- Experience using CMM equipment and Faro Arms would be highly beneficial.
- Previous experience working with composite materials would be advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
- Ability to follow technical instructions, procedures and manufacturing specifications.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider manufacturing team.
