Adecco Workington are recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturing business for multiple Mechanical Technician opportunities. The Role

As a Mechanical Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing and improving a wide range of manufacturing plant and production equipment. You will work closely with operations teams to maximise equipment reliability, minimise downtime and support continuous improvement initiatives across the site.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities.


• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults and breakdowns.


• Support plant reliability and continuous improvement projects.


• Maintain pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, motors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.


• Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and efficiently.


• Complete maintenance documentation and update maintenance systems.


• Assist with equipment installations, shutdowns and refurbishment projects.


• Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to achieve site targets.

About You

We're keen to speak with candidates who have:

• Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.


• Previous experience within manufacturing, industrial or heavy engineering environments.


• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.


• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and rotating equipment.


• A proactive and hands-on approach to maintenance.


• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Shift Mechanical Technician

• Continental shift pattern


• Rotating 12-hour day and night shifts
