The RoleAs Assistant Accountant, you will support the day-to-day running of the finance function, working closely with the wider finance team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts
- Completing bank and balance sheet reconciliations
- Supporting month-end and year-end processes
- Maintaining accurate financial records and investigating discrepancies
- Processing journals, accruals and prepayments
- Assisting with purchase ledger and sales ledger activities
- Supporting VAT returns and other financial reporting requirements
- Working closely with the finance team to improve processes and efficiencies
- Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant or Assistant Accountant role
- A good understanding of accounting principles and month-end processes
- Strong Excel skills and confidence using accounting software
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ideally, AAT qualifications or someone studying towards ACCA/CIMA, although relevant experience will also be considered
- Competitive salary of up to £32,000, depending on experience
