Junior CAD Designer

The Opportunity: 

We are recruiting for a Junior CAD Designer to join a specialist team within the roofing and insulation sector. 

This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and technically minded individual to develop bespoke tapered insulation designs, producing practical, cost-effective roof drainage solutions that meet customer requirements and relevant building regulations.

Working closely with internal teams and customers, you will interpret architectural drawings, prepare quotations and ensure designs deliver the required thermal performance and technical standards.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Design bespoke tapered insulation schemes using specialist design software.
• Interpret architectural drawings, survey information and project specifications to develop effective roof drainage solutions.
• Prepare accurate, commercially competitive quotations for designed schemes.
• Carry out thermal performance calculations and condensation risk assessments.
• Liaise with customers, business managers and internal stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve technical queries.
• Ensure designs meet relevant building regulations, technical standards and project specifications.
• Maintain high standards of design accuracy, customer service and technical quality.
• Manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
• Identify opportunities to improve design processes, efficiency and overall performance.

Skills and Experience: 

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate work.
• Good organisational, planning and time management skills.
• Ability to interpret technical information and solve problems effectively.
• Confident using Microsoft Office and general IT systems.
• Able to work independently, use initiative and contribute to a collaborative team.
• Adaptable and comfortable managing changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• A proactive approach to learning, professional development and continuous improvement.

Experience in tapered insulation design, roofing, construction design or building physics would be advantageous.
