The Opportunity

We are recruiting for an experienced Train Shunter to join the Logistics Movements team at a leading rail organisation in Goole.

This role is responsible for the safe control and movement of traction and rolling stock within a private rail facility, ensuring all movements are carried out in accordance with established operating procedures and safety standards.

Working Hours

40 hours per week.

Standard working hours: 07:00-15:00.

Some flexibility in start and finish times may occasionally be required to meet business needs, for example, 06:00-14:00.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely control and coordinate the movement of traction and rolling stock within the facility.

  • A thorough understanding of rail operations within a private facility, depot or yard.
  • A good understanding of rail operations across the wider UK rail network.

  • Experience driving locomotives and undertaking shunting operations.
  • Experience working alongside Train Operating Companies (TOCs).
  • A valid Sentinel Personal Track Safety (PTS) competency.
