Forklift/Yard Operative – Welshpool

• Location: Welshpool
• Pay Rate: £13.39 per hour
• Working Hours: 7:30am – 5:00pm
• Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent

We are currently recruiting for a Forklift / Yard Operative to join a busy operation in Welshpool. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys practical work, working outdoors and being part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Loading and unloading vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Operating a forklift to move stock and materials where appropriately trained and authorised.
• Sorting, handling and organising recyclable materials around the yard.
• Keeping the yard safe, clean and tidy throughout the working day.
• Following site health and safety procedures and safe working practices.
• Handling materials carefully to help prevent damage and maintain a safe working environment.
• Working alongside colleagues to ensure daily tasks are completed efficiently.
• Following instructions from supervisors and supporting the smooth running of day-to-day yard operations.
• Reporting hazards, damaged equipment, stock discrepancies or safety concerns to the appropriate person.

Experience and Qualifications

• Previous experience in a yard, warehouse, recycling or materials-handling role would be an advantage.
• A valid FLT licence would be beneficial.
• Previous forklift operating experience would be useful.
• An understanding of safe loading, unloading and stock handling procedures would be advantageous.
