Team Manager

Stoke-on-Trent City Council is seeking a proactive and experienced Team Manager to lead a dedicated children’s social care team. This leadership role involves overseeing social work practice, supporting staff development, and ensuring high-quality service delivery to safeguard children and promote positive family outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and lead a team of social workers, providing supervision, guidance, and professional development.

• Oversee complex casework, ensuring statutory compliance and effective safeguarding interventions.

• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, reflective practice, and high standards.

• Collaborate with partner agencies, stakeholders, and families to enhance service delivery.

• Monitor performance, prepare reports, and contribute to strategic planning and service development.

Essential Requirements:

• Proven experience in a social work leadership or management role, preferably within children’s services.

• Current Social Work England (SWE) registration.

• Strong knowledge of child protection legislation, frameworks, and best practice.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
