The Role

• Leading on a broad range of private client matters for high-net-worth individuals, families, business owners, and trustees
• Advising clients on wills, trusts, estate planning, and wealth preservation strategies
• Managing complex probate and estate administration matters
• Providing inheritance tax planning and succession advice
• Advising on trust creation, administration, and taxation matters
• Building and developing long-term client relationships
• Working closely with colleagues across multiple disciplines to provide holistic client solutions
• Leading and mentoring junior lawyers within the team
• Driving business development initiatives and expanding the firm's Private Client offering within the region
• Playing a key role in the continued growth and success of the department

Key Responsibilities

• Leading complex private client matters from instruction through to completion
• Managing and developing key client relationships
• Advising clients on succession planning, inheritance tax, trusts, and estate administration
• Supporting business development and networking activities
• Identifying opportunities for cross-referrals and wider client services
• Supervising and mentoring junior team members
• Contributing to the growth and success of the wider Private Client team
• Maintaining high standards of client care and service delivery

About You

The ideal candidate will be commercially minded, relationship-driven, and eager to take advantage of a genuine growth opportunity. You will have:

• Qualified Solicitor with significant experience in Private Client law
• Experience operating at Partner level or ready to step into Partnership
• Strong technical expertise across wills, trusts, probate, and estate planning matters
• Experience advising high-net-worth individuals, families, and business owners
• Proven business development and relationship management skills
• A strong network of professional contacts and referrers
• Commercial awareness and strategic thinking abilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience leading client relationships and developing work streams independently
• A collaborative approach and desire to contribute to team success
• Ambition to build and grow a successful Private Client practice
