MFL Teacher – French / Spanish (Good Academy)

 

A “Good” rated secondary academy in Birmingham is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled MFL Teacher to join their thriving Languages department from January 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for a committed practitioner who can deliver engaging French and/or Spanish lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, and who is eager to contribute to a positive, forward-thinking school community.

Location: Birmingham
Start Date: January 2026
Contract: Full-time, Long-term (potential to become permanent)
Salary: Competitive, based on experience

The Role – MFL Teacher (French / Spanish)

• Teach French and/or Spanish across KS3 and KS4

• Plan and deliver engaging, culturally rich MFL lessons

• Differentiate effectively to support mixed-ability learners

• Use assessment data to monitor progress and raise achievement

• Maintain high expectations for behaviour, effort and engagement

• Contribute to curriculum development, schemes of learning and enrichment activities

• Build strong, professional relationships with pupils, colleagues and families

We’re Looking For

• QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification

• Strong subject knowledge in French and/or Spanish

• Experience teaching MFL at KS3 & KS4 (GCSE experience highly desirable)

• Confident classroom management and the ability to motivate students

• A reflective, committed practitioner with high professional standards

• Someone who integrates quickly into a supportive academy environment
