Are you an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant looking for a long-term opportunity within a supportive and forward-thinking primary school?

Long Term Futures are working closely with a welcoming primary school in Kings Heath (B14) who are seeking a confident HLTA to support learning across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
This is an excellent opportunity for an HLTA who enjoys variety – from delivering targeted interventions to covering classes and supporting pupils with additional needs. The school is on a positive improvement journey and offers a collaborative environment where staff are genuinely valued.

The Role

  • Deliver small group interventions in English, Phonics, Maths and Social & Emotional development
  • Provide high-quality support across EYFS, KS1 and KS2
  • Cover whole classes when required, following lesson plans and maintaining strong behaviour management
  • Support pupils with SEN and additional needs, adapting learning to suit individual abilities
  • Monitor and feedback on pupil progress to teachers and SLT
  • Contribute to wider school life, including enrichment activities and clubs

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds HLTA status or a Level 3 qualification / relevant degree
  • Strong Maths and English skills (GCSE grade C/4 or above)
  • Experience delivering structured interventions with proven impact
  • Confident supporting pupils with SEN and learning barriers
  • High expectations for behaviour, engagement and progress
  • Reliable, proactive and able to work collaboratively within a team

About the School

  • Supportive SLT with a strong focus on staff development
  • Well-resourced classrooms and intervention spaces
  • Positive learning environment with engaged pupils
  • Clear systems and routines in place to support staff and learners

Why Work with Long Term Futures?

  • Long-term, stable role with temp-to-perm potential
  • Weekly pay with competitive HLTA rates
