PMLD Teaching AssistantJob Title: PMLD Teaching AssistantLocation: Blackpool AreaContract Type: Full-Time (Long-Term / Temporary to July 2027)Start Date: Immediate / ASAPPay Rate: £98 - £120 per day (dependent on experience)About the RoleTradewind Recruitment is currently working alongside a specialist PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties) school in the Blackpool area. We are looking for a compassionate, dedicated, and resilient Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team starting ASAP through to July 2027.In this role, you will be supporting children and young people with profound and multiple learning difficulties, sensory impairments, and complex medical or physical needs. You will help create a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment that promotes independence, communication, and sensory development.Key Responsibilities1-to-1 & Small Group Support: Assist pupils with sensory integration activities, therapy sessions, and personalised learning plans.Specialist Care: Support students with personal care, manual handling, feeding, and medical or physical needs as required.Sensory & Creative Learning: Help deliver engaging multi-sensory sessions (such as music, art, and hydrotherapy where applicable) to enhance student engagement.Progress Tracking: Monitor and record student development in line with individual Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets.Collaborative Working: Work closely with class teachers, nurses, speech and language therapists, and parents.Candidate RequirementsExperience: Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Support Worker, or Care Worker, particularly with PMLD, complex needs, or personal care.Personal Qualities: A gentle, patient, empathetic, and resilient approach.Availability: Able to commit to a full-time schedule (Monday to Friday, school hours) starting ASAP through July 2027.Compliance: Must hold a valid Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service (или be willing to apply for one immediately through Tradewind).What Tradewind OffersCompetitive Pay: Daily rates ranging from £98 to £120 per day paid via PAYE.Professional Development: Access to free specialist CPD courses, including manual handling, safeguarding, and medical training.Long-Term Stability: A secure, rewarding placement running through the academic calendar.Interested?
