Team Manager

Windsor and Maidenhead Council is seeking an experienced Children’s Team Manager for a 3-month locum contract. This role will involve leading a team of social workers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to children, young people, and their families. The successful candidate will oversee casework, support professional development within the team, and drive best practice to meet statutory requirements and safeguard children effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, manage, and supervise a team of children’s social workers, ensuring effective performance management and service delivery.

• Oversee complex casework, providing guidance, support, and decision-making to ensure positive outcomes for children and families.

• Ensure compliance with statutory duties, safeguarding procedures, and relevant legislation.

• Monitor workloads, allocate cases appropriately, and ensure timely progression of work.

• Support staff development through mentoring, training, and reflective supervision.

• Work collaboratively with partner agencies and stakeholders to promote integrated working and improve service outcomes.
