About the role

Ready to be the driving force behind learner success?

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Oaklands College for a passionate and proactive Learner Engagement Executive – Professional Training to support adult learners from their first enquiry through to successful completion of their learning journey. You’ll be at the forefront of an exciting phase of growth within our Professional Training provision, helping individuals access life-changing opportunities to develop their skills, achieve qualifications, and progress towards brighter futures.

This is a highly rewarding role where you will combine exceptional customer service, learner engagement, stakeholder management, and compliance expertise to ensure learners receive outstanding support from enrolment through to achievement. Working closely with referral partners, employers, and internal teams, you will play a vital role in expanding access to professional training opportunities across Hertfordshire.

Your Day to Day Impact

As a Learner Engagement Executive – Professional Training, you will take ownership of the learner journey, ensuring every prospective learner receives a high-quality and responsive experience from their first interaction with Oaklands through to successful programme completion. You will provide advice and guidance to individuals exploring professional training opportunities, helping them identify the most suitable programme to meet their personal and career aspirations.

You will lead the coordination and management of learner enrolments, ensuring applications and onboarding processes are completed efficiently, accurately, and in line with funding and audit requirements. Your attention to detail will be critical in maintaining compliant learner records and supporting robust funding returns.

Managing a caseload of learners throughout their programme will be a key element of your role. You will build meaningful relationships with learners, providing ongoing guidance, encouragement, and pastoral support to help them overcome barriers and remain engaged throughout their learning journey. This support may continue beyond programme completion to help learners achieve positive outcomes.

Building and maintaining strong relationships with external stakeholders will be central to your success. You will work closely with Jobcentre Plus, charities, third-sector organisations, employers, and other referral partners to identify potential learners and promote Oaklands Professional Training provision across Hertfordshire. Through networking, outreach activities, and partnership development, you will help generate learner referrals and widen participation.

You will also play an important role in maintaining accurate records, monitoring learner engagement, managing enrolment trackers and dedicated mailboxes, and ensuring all funding evidence and compliance documentation is collected, maintained, and submitted within required timescales.

Working collaboratively with colleagues across the Professional Training team, you will contribute to a culture of continuous improvement while ensuring that safeguarding, equality, diversity, inclusion, and learner wellbeing remain at the heart of everything you do.
