Production Operative

Our client, a successful and established manufacturing business based in Shefford, is looking for enthusiastic Production Operatives to join their growing team. Working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, on a rotating shift pattern of 6:00am–2:00pm and 2:00pm–10:00pm, you'll be joining a busy production team where quality, teamwork and safety are essential.
Production Operative – Benefits Offered

£26,312 starting salary

Salary increases to £26,768 following successful completion of a 3-month probation period

Production Operative – Job Overview

Operate production machinery and equipment to manufacture high-quality plastic products

Assist with the moulding process, including preparing moulds, weighing raw materials and removing finished products

Monitor production processes to ensure products meet required quality standards

Trim, finish and inspect products ready for the next stage of production

Record production information, measurements and quality checks accurately

Identify and report any machinery faults or product quality issues

Work towards individual and team production targets

Maintain a clean, safe and organised production environment

Follow all health and safety procedures, including the correct use of PPE

Support the wider production team with additional duties as required

Production Operative – Skills & Experience Required

Previous experience within a production or manufacturing environment would be advantageous but is not essential

Comfortable operating machinery and undertaking practical, hands-on work

Good attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work

Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling duties

Good communication, literacy and numeracy skills

Reliable, hardworking and safety-conscious

Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop new skills

Able to work independently and as part of a team

Good time management skills and ability to meet production targets

Able to work rotating shifts of 6:00am–2:00pm and 2:00pm–10:00pm

Full valid driving licence
