Small Works Engineer

Location: Newcastle upon Tyne / North East (confirm location)

An expanding fire and security systems business is seeking an experienced Small Works Engineer to deliver installation, upgrade and remedial projects across TECS, fire, security and life safety systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver small works projects, including installations, system upgrades and remedial works.

• Work across TECS, fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV and access control systems.

• Commission, test and hand over systems, including customer training.

• Carry out acceptance testing and quality assurance checks.

• Ensure compliance with relevant British Standards, industry regulations and health and safety requirements.

• Prepare accurate quotations and technical documentation while maintaining strong customer relationships.

About You

• Proven experience in fire and security engineering, particularly small works.

• Strong technical knowledge across multiple manufacturers and system types.

• Understanding of relevant standards, including BS 5839, BS 5266 and EN 50131.

• Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.

• Confident managing multiple projects and dealing directly with clients.

• IT literate, including Microsoft Office and project management tools.
