We are looking for a Food Service Assistant to join a hands-on catering team at a busy distribution and logistics site. You will help prepare, present and serve food and drinks, working alongside supportive colleagues in a clean, well-run kitchen and servery.

What you'll do:

• Helping with food preparation and presentation to Sodexo standards
• Serving customers at the counter and making hot and cold drinks
• Operating the till, checking floats and cashing up at the end of service
• Keeping the servery, tables and dining areas clean, stocked and hygienic
• Checking deliveries and recording food temperatures
• Carrying out cleaning duties in line with the cleaning rota
• Reporting customer feedback and any incidents, accidents or safety concerns
• Supporting special functions and covering other areas during holidays and sickness, which may occasionally fall outside normal working hours

What you'll bring:

• Essential:
  • Good communication skills and a strong customer service approach
  • A high standard of personal hygiene and appearance
  • Ability to follow health and safety practices
  • A positive attitude and a willingness to work as part of a team

• Desirable:

  • Previous food handling or catering experience
  • Electronic point of sale (till) experience
  • Basic computer skills and accurate record keeping
  • Understanding of COSHH principles
