Are you an experienced maintenance professional who enjoys bringing structure, efficiency and forward thinking to a busy engineering environment? This is an opportunity to take ownership of maintenance planning and help improve the reliability and performance of a manufacturing operation.
Consortium Professional Recruitment are pleased to be working with an established process manufacturing business in Hull to recruit an Engineering Maintenance Planner. Working closely with the Head of Engineering and a skilled maintenance team, you'll have the opportunity to influence maintenance strategies, support continuous improvement and ensure engineering activities are planned safely and effectively.
The Opportunity:
As an Engineering Maintenance Planner, you'll play a key role in:
- Planning and coordinating preventative, predictive and reactive maintenance activities, ensuring engineers have the resources, materials and information needed to complete work effectively.
- Managing maintenance schedules, statutory inspections and work orders through the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS), maintaining accurate records and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Working collaboratively with engineering, production and external contractors to prioritise activities, coordinate planned downtime and minimise disruption to manufacturing operations.
- Supporting equipment reliability initiatives through root cause analysis, maintenance data and continuous improvement techniques to reduce recurring failures and improve plant performance.
- Coordinating contractor activities, reviewing risk assessments and method statements, issuing permits and promoting high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance.
About You:
We're looking for someone who can bring:
- Previous experience in maintenance planning within a manufacturing or industrial environment, with a practical understanding of engineering maintenance activities.
- A recognised mechanical or electrical engineering qualification, ideally gained through an apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent.
- Experience using and developing CMMS systems to manage maintenance schedules, work orders and equipment records.
- Knowledge of statutory inspections, contractor management and safe systems of work, supported by relevant health and safety training or qualifications.
- Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills, with the confidence to coordinate priorities and build effective working relationships.
You'll be someone who takes pride in planning ahead, enjoys working with others and can adapt when operational priorities change.
If you meet the essential requirements but don't have every desirable qualification or experience listed, we'd still encourage you to apply.
The Benefits and Package:
In return, you'll enjoy:
- Salary: £52,000 per annum.
- Pension: Employer pension matching up to 10%.
- Medical: Medical cover.
- Life Assurance: Life assurance benefit.
- Working Hours: 38.5 hours per week on a day shift pattern.
