Join Our Team as a School Kitchen Assistant

We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join a busy school catering team in Bedford. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants to make a positive impact by helping provide nutritious meals to students every day.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation and serving of breakfast and lunch meals
• Supporting the cook and kitchen team with food preparation duties
• Maintaining high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness
• Washing up and cleaning kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas
• Receiving and storing deliveries correctly
• Ensuring all food safety and health & safety procedures are followed
• Providing friendly and professional service to pupils and staff

What We're Looking For

• Previous kitchen, catering, hospitality, or food service experience is desirable but not essential
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Good communication skills
• Reliable, punctual, and hardworking
• Understanding of food hygiene practices (training can be provided)
• Enhanced DBS check required or willingness to obtain one
