Group Accountant

Our client is seeking a talented Group Accountant to play a pivotal role within the finance team, supporting the Financial Controller in delivering high-quality financial reporting, business insights and robust financial controls across a multi-site service group.

As Group Accountant, you will take ownership of key financial reporting activities across the group, ensuring the delivery of accurate and timely financial information to support strategic decision-making.

Working closely with senior stakeholders across the business, you will contribute to process improvements, financial control enhancements and continuous development of the finance function.

Responsibility of the Group Accountant role:-

• Preparation of monthly management accounts across multiple entities.
• Consolidation of group financial results.
• Balance sheet reconciliations and maintenance of robust financial controls.
• Preparation of statutory accounts and audit support.
• Budgeting, forecasting and cashflow reporting.
• VAT returns and wider financial compliance activities.
• Business partnering with operational and non-financial stakeholders.
• Financial analysis to support strategic decision making.
• Driving improvements in reporting processes and systems.
• Supporting acquisitions, integration projects and other finance initiatives.

Requirement of the Group Accountant role:-

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
• Technically strong with excellent accounting knowledge.
• Experienced in financial reporting and month-end processes.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
• Highly analytical with excellent attention to detail.
• Proactive, commercially aware and keen to improve processes.
• An effective communicator who can build relationships across the business.
