Composite Laminators

Morson Talent is recruiting experienced Composite Laminators for a number of contract opportunities with leading motorsport, aerospace and advanced manufacturing organisations across the UK.

Locations: Various sites across the UK

Hours/Shifts: A minimum of 50 hours per week, with day and night shift patterns available depending on the assignment

Rates: Various competitive LTD company rates, dependent on location, shift pattern, experience and assignment. Engagement terms are subject to the requirements and status determination for each role.

About the opportunities

As a Composite Laminator, you will support the manufacture of high-quality composite components in a fast-paced production environment. Assignments may involve prototype, low-volume or high-performance components for motorsport, aerospace and other advanced engineering applications.

Typical responsibilities

• Prepare moulds, tools and composite materials for lamination.
• Carry out hand lay-up of pre-preg and/or wet lay composite materials.
• Follow ply books, technical drawings and work instructions accurately.
• Ensure the correct orientation, position and number of plies for each component.
• Vacuum bag components, conduct leak checks and prepare parts for curing.
• Maintain accurate production records and comply with quality procedures.
• Work safely, maintain a clean work area and support delivery deadlines.

Skills and experience

• Previous experience as a Composite Laminator in motorsport, aerospace, automotive or a related advanced manufacturing environment.
• Good knowledge of composite materials, lay-up techniques, vacuum bagging and curing processes.
• Ability to read and work from technical drawings, ply books and manufacturing instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and a consistent focus on quality.
• Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines.
• Flexibility to work extended hours and shift patterns, with a minimum commitment of 50 hours per week.
• Relevant training, qualifications or current certifications are advantageous, depending on the assignment.
