Practice Nurse – Cervical Screening

​We are recruiting an experienced Practice Nurse to provide locum cover for cervical screening clinics at a GP practice in Leicester. This opportunity involves Saturday sessions on selected dates between October 2026 and March 2027, with clinics running from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm.

Requirements

• Current NMC registration.

• Relevant cervical screening training and current competency.

• Previous experience conducting cervical screening appointments.

• Proficiency using SystmOne.

• Availability for Saturday sessions on the specified dates.

Responsibilities

• Conduct cervical screening appointments in accordance with current clinical guidance.

• Explain screening procedures and provide appropriate patient advice and reassurance.

• Collect cervical screening samples safely and accurately.

• Maintain clear and accurate patient records using SystmOne.

• Manage appointments within allocated 15-minute slots.

• Follow established infection prevention and clinical safety procedures.

The clinics consist of 15-minute appointments, with the final appointment slot allocated for catch-up time. There are no scheduled breaks, and pay-and-display parking is available nearby.
