Adoptions Engineer

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Adoptions Engineer to join our residential development team.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that all on-site infrastructure—including roads, drainage, and utilities—complies with local authority adoption standards.

This is a hands-on role requiring excellent technical knowledge, attention to detail, and strong communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Liaise with local authorities, utility companies, and consultants to ensure infrastructure meets adoption standards.

• Review and approve design and construction work for roads, sewers, drainage, and street lighting.

• Inspect site works regularly and prepare compliance reports.

• Coordinate remedial works as required to achieve adoption approval.

• Manage adoption documentation and submission processes with statutory bodies.

• Provide technical support to site teams and project managers throughout the construction process.

Skills & Experience:

• Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Proven experience in residential/adoption engineering or similar civil infrastructure roles.

• Strong knowledge of highways, drainage, and utilities adoption standards.

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

• Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or equivalent design software.

• Ability to manage multiple sites and deadlines effectively.
