The Opportunity:
Long Term Futures are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in the Greenwich area.
The school supports pupils with a range of complex needs, including Autism (ASD), physical disabilities, and communication difficulties, within a structured and nurturing environment. This role requires someone confident supporting personal care, ensuring pupils’ dignity, wellbeing, and independence are always prioritised.
This is a highly rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a specialist setting.
Your Key Responsibilities:
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEN
• Assist with personal care, including hygiene and mobility support
• Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and sensory needs
• Implement structured routines and personalised support strategies
• Assist teachers in adapting lessons and resources
• Help create a safe, calm, and inclusive learning environment
• Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and families
Requirements:
• Experience supporting pupils with SEN in a school or care setting
• Confidence and willingness to carry out personal care responsibilities
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills
• Patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
• Understanding of safeguarding, SEN practice, and inclusive education
