About The Role
SBFM is a leading provider of soft facilities management services. We believe there is a better way to deliver commercial cleaning and facilities management, constantly challenging the industry through innovation, technology and exceptional service.
We're looking for a qualified Management Accountant to join our Finance team at our Head Office in Leeds. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you'll play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, supporting strategic decision-making and providing commercial insight across the business.
This is a varied, hands-on position that covers the full month-end reporting cycle, budgeting, board reporting and financial analysis. It's an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with data, thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to make a real impact within a growing, people-focused organisation.
Key Responsibilities
As Management Accountant, you'll be responsible for:
- Managing the month-end accounting process, including journals, accruals, prepayments and labour cost allocations.
- Producing accurate monthly management accounts and financial reporting packs.
- Preparing financial reporting for external stakeholders, including banks and lenders.
- Monitoring departmental overhead spend against budget and working with budget holders to investigate variances.
- Supporting the production of monthly Board reports through meaningful financial analysis and commercial insight.
- Analysing company-wide profit and loss performance, including labour rate variance and other operational reporting.
- Assisting with the annual budgeting process, including template preparation, departmental consolidation and company-wide budget reporting.
- Carrying out National Minimum Wage (NMW) compliance analysis, including reviewing timesheets and calculating effective hourly rates.
- Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Building strong working relationships with colleagues across Finance and the wider business.
About You
We're looking for someone who combines strong technical accounting skills with excellent analytical ability and a proactive approach.
You'll ideally have:
- Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant status (CIMA preferred, although ACCA or ACA will also be considered).
- Previous experience in a Management Accountant or similar finance role.
- Strong month-end reporting and management accounts experience.
- Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with large volumes of financial data.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail.
- The ability to communicate financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- A collaborative approach with the confidence to build relationships across the business.
- Experience within a multi-site or labour-intensive business would be advantageous, with Facilities Management experience desirable but not essential.
Why Join SBFM?

- Company pension scheme
- Employee benefits platform with a range of retail, leisure and lifestyle discounts
- Access to health and wellbeing support
- Career development and progression opportunities
