Technical Business Analyst

ROLE:                                  Business Analyst / Software Tester   
WORKING HOURS:          Full time (37.5 hrs per week)
SALARY:                             £40,000 - £50,000 DOE + 24 days holiday + 5 % pension
LOCATION:                        Coventry Hybrid/Fully remote    

We are looking for an experienced software tester to own the testing process of this company's world class software solution to facilitate inter and intra -company trading and functionality of Oracle E-Business Suite, without the need for customization. The nature of this solution means you would be working with some of the largest multi-national corporations on the planet, supporting the implementation team by testing the solution and ensuring it adheres to the client requirements. 

It is a mature software solution that provides full control over all aspects of intercompany creation, transfer pricing, automated settlement and advanced accounting through a 'non-intrusive' product set that provides both functionality and flexibility. 

This role requires the successful candidate to not just find the problems as with traditional software testing but also find the solutions, mapping the client requirements and communicating these to the development teams as a business analyst.
 
The main responsibilities are as follows:

• Testing

• Build and execute test cases within Oracle and the company's applications
• Coordinate with technical team where development changes are required
• Coordinate with functional SMEs about nature of changes

• Business Analyst

• Support implementation consulting team with work on customer projects, customer support, and internal tasks
• Assist documentation team with communicating software changes into customer-facing documentation

 
Required Skills and Experience

• Exposure to and knowledge of software testing techniques
• Logical thinking - demonstrate a methodical, thorough, and consistent approach to software testing
• Have a curious and inquisitive mind - question why something is done that way; create ways to break things
• Be a problem solver - able to take nebulous requirements and generate viable solutions
• Able to work with numbers - while formal accounting training is not required, you will be working with financial accounting software
• Be able to work in a multi-disciplinary team and be able communicate with both developers and functional SMEs

 
Advantageous Skills and Experience

• Previous software testing experience
• Experience and understanding of Agile methodology in software development or project management
• SQL - ideally Oracle but could be MySQL or Microsoft
• API and webservice experience
• ERP or other financial systems experience - either as end-user or application support, tester
• Knowledge of financial accounting
