We are looking for a strong software development manager to join this tech-led business as they continue to dominate the Estate Agency market. Due to recently acquiring the second largest Estate Agency in the UK, they are rapidly growing seeing a significant technology transformation.

They would be stepping up to the Head of Development role but would still be expected to know their way around the code.

Role: Head of Estate Agency Application Development
Salary: £75,000 - £85,000 Location: Dunstable [ Hybrid working 1-2 days in the office a week]

Duties of the Head of Development role will include:

• Assuming direct managerial responsibilities for the growing development team managers and looking after the expanding development teams beneath them
• Working closely with the director, you will be instrumental in navigating the strategic roadmap of technology moving into the future, taking into account their build not buy philosophy and microservices environment
• You will engage with internal staff, third parties and customers in managing the project workload, ensuring effective procedures are in place, highlighting and mitigating any issues, risks, bottlenecks, etc. Ensuring the strategic goals of the company are achieved at every stage.

The technology stack is mainly Microsoft based tech, however the teams look after a large estate of applications with a wide variety of technology. 

The client provides an excellent working environment, with a high calibre, growing team and the real opportunity for the successful person to make a real difference - influencing the way things are done and the strategic approach - working closely with the Director of Solutions and Development and the wider Leadership Team.

The ideal Head of Development will have the following skills and experience:-   

• Experience developing or managing in a .NET environment
• Mentoring or lead experience
• Experience of delivering key development projects, managing implementations and upgrades ideally web applications
• Relationship and project management experience
• Ability to interact well with both business and technical resources at all levels
• Strong understanding of AGILE/SCRUM methodology
• Comfortable in a busy and fast paced environment.
