About the role

We are seeking an experienced Facilities or Site Services Manager who can quickly integrate into the business and take ownership of all site services activities. Ideally, you will have previous experience working within logistics sites, warehousing, or distribution centres and understand the demands of a fast-paced operational environment. This role requires strong technical knowledge, exceptional attention to detail, and a proactive approach to Health & Safety, which are the key priorities for success. You will be responsible for ensuring the site remains fully compliant, well-maintained, and operationally effective while driving high standards across all facilities and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all facilities and site services activities, ensuring full compliance with health, safety, environmental, and statutory requirements.
  • Manage refrigeration, HVAC, electrical infrastructure, water systems, fire protection systems, drainage, utilities, and building fabric.
  • Oversee planned preventative maintenance programmes, contractor performance, permit-to-work systems, and compliance audits.
  • Develop and deliver capital expenditure projects, asset lifecycle plans, and site improvement initiatives.
  • Drive a strong safety culture, ensuring risks are identified, managed, and continually reduced across the operation.
We believe success comes from collaboration and diverse perspectives. At Samworth Brothers, we value team players who are driven to achieve great results together. You’ll bring the following skills and experience:

  • Proven experience as a Facilities Manager, Site Services Manager, or similar leadership role within a logistics, warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or food industry environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of building services, maintenance management, statutory compliance, and contractor governance.
  • Demonstrable experience managing Health & Safety within a large operational facility, with IOSH Managing Safely as a minimum requirement.
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership experience with the ability to manage, coach, and develop teams while maintaining high operational standards.
