An opportunity to join a specialist engineering and manufacturing business at a pivotal stage in its quality journey. Operating within a low-volume, high-complexity environment, the business supplies technically advanced products into demanding and highly regulated industries where quality, reliability and compliance are critical.

This is a senior position for an experienced Quality leader who can make an immediate impact, strengthening quality systems, improving processes and embedding a culture of continuous improvement across the business. Combining strategic leadership with a hands-on approach, you will work closely with senior stakeholders and operational teams to drive meaningful improvements and ensure quality is a shared responsibility throughout the organisation.

What you will be doing:

• Taking ownership of the Quality Management System and driving its ongoing development and effectiveness
• Leading quality improvement initiatives, strengthening processes and embedding best practice
• Providing strategic direction whilst maintaining a hands-on presence across the operation
• Leading non-conformance investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions
• Supporting product conformity, inspection, testing and release processes
• Working collaboratively with engineering, production, procurement and supply chain teams to resolve complex quality challenges
• Developing the capability of the quality team and promoting quality accountability across the wider business
• Working with senior stakeholders to align quality priorities with operational and business objectives
• Driving continuous improvement using quality tools and methodologies, including 8D and A3 problem-solving

What we are looking for:

• Significant senior quality leadership experience within engineering or manufacturing environments
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 Quality Management Systems
• Proven experience improving, transforming or implementing Quality Management Systems
• Experience within low-volume, high-complexity or highly regulated manufacturing environments
• Strong understanding of product conformity, inspection, testing and release processes
• Experience leading non-conformance investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions
• The ability to influence and build effective relationships across engineering, production, procurement and senior leadership teams
• Experience developing quality teams and improving quality capability across an organisation
• Practical knowledge of quality tools and methodologies, including 8D, A3 and root cause analysis
• A proactive, pragmatic and hands-on leadership style, with the ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels
• Experience within aerospace, defence, electronics, precision engineering or similar regulated sectors would be advantageous
